Where can you find inexpensive items to decorate your kitchen?
How have your decorated your kitchen on a budget? What tips can you share and what are your favourite value-for-money items?
Inexpensive items can be found all over the place such as general stores, ‘$2′ shops, Reject stores, Kmart etc. I’ve seen well-priced tea towels and pot mitts at Spotlight and Lindcraft. The key is to keep looking for bargains by popping into these stores regularly. For nicer items I do make a special trip to Ikea or Freedom – sometimes for window shopping but usually I can’t walk out empty-handed! Or I wait for the big sales at Myer. Or you could mine your family – children’s art, granny’s casserole dish (filled with oranges), fake flowers in a glass spagetti container. Or, cut up magazines and stick onto a corkboard for a vision board that’s useful and decorative. Decluttering your kitchen and choosing some special pieces or colour that YOU love is the key!
